Our Humble Beginning
Since 1972, Le Gita Cakes has been the home of premium Kue Lapis Legit and Nastar, crafted with the same dedication and artistry that started it all. each bite carrying the legacy of our grandmother, Mdm. Lim Kim Chun—a woman of resilience, innovation, and love.
At a time when opportunities for women were limited, she took a bold step that would change her life. Leaving her village to accompany her newlywed sister to Pontianak, she found herself in a world of refined tastes and exquisite delicacies. It was here that she discovered her passion for baking—a craft that would soon become her lifeline. With five children to support, she turned that passion into a livelihood. But she was more than a baker—she was an innovator. She refined ingredient measurements, optimized the baking process, and led a team, all while managing a bustling household.
Our parents continues to innovate
What began as a humble effort to support her family grew into Le Gita Cakes, a name now known for quality and tradition. Her Lapis Legit, with its perfect layers, and her buttery Nastar became symbols of her hard work and love. Over time, her cakes became a proud symbol of Pontianak, cherished as gifts for loved ones and respected leaders, even gracing the tables of Indonesia’s Presidents.
With the next generation at the helm, Le Gita Cakes grew, sharing her timeless recipes while staying true to her values—quality, warmth, and the joy of bringing people together through food. We pioneered Lapis Legit and Nastar as Pontianak’s must-bring souvenirs, crafting seasonal designs and packaging perfect for long-distance delivery. Years before e-commerce existed in Indonesia, we embraced direct-to-customer sales, delivering our cakes nationwide.
Now it is our turn to continue the legacy
